Burlap Heart Pillow, with a trick for cutting out the burlap

Here is my new pillow design.

I am happy with the way it turned out.

Burlap can be so messy for me to work with so I tried a new technique:

1-place a template of the shape(heart) you want to cut out on a piece of burlap
2-outline the template with Liquid Stitch
3-remove the template and let the Liquid Stitch dry completely
4-now you will have an outline of where to cut out the shape, I was able to cut it so easily with out any mess
5-use spray adhesive to attach your shape to the pillow front
6-sew it on with a zig-zag stitch
7-finish your pillow!

Do you have a trick for working with burlap?  Let me know.

Pillow for Valentine's Day Decorating

I made this cute vinyl cut out for a re-purposed cabinet door last year for Valentine's Day.

These days I am just crazy about making pillows, so I made it into a new pillow design.

I think it would be a cute teacher gift.
This pillow cover is 18X18, hand sewn using an off white cotton fabric.
I just used acrylic paint in black and red.

Please share if you make anything like it, I would love to see variations!
